Honestly, I am for same-sex marriage. I just have to come up with a compelling argument for a debate in my English class that I sadly am on the con side for. Please do not tell me there is no difference. I know that. But every bit of opinion and/or evidence helps. Thanks.

Answer by Spindrift There is actually a huge difference. Homosexuality is a chosen lifestyle; minorities are a race which may be targeted for all sorts of discrimination. Homosexuality is chosen, race is something you're born into. Homosexuals were not forbidden to drink from certain fountains. Homosexuals were not forbidden from eating in certain restaurants. Homosexuals were not forbidden to sit in certain sections of buses. Homosexuals were not rounded up in the middle of the night and tortured and hanged. So never even think of comparing homosexuals with race.
