I love this time of year. I do. I love the hell out of it. No, not the commercialism of Xmas, I am as cynical as the next jack-ass about the falseness and commercial driven anxiety that surrounds this time of year. But I enjoy this time of year on principle. In a large percentage of the world (in the northern hemisphere at least) it is really really freakin' cold. In fact its cold and likely to get colder (a depressing prospect for most). So a few thousands years ago some guys and gals where like "Hey this really really sucks. Lets make it not suck and have a party and have some sex" (or partous - as they where probably speaking Latin). They had it right, so right in fact that very few traditions are more celebrated in more ways by more people.

So lets make it not suck. If you have a speacial someone, sex them up good, if not spead some love, spread some hugs, spread general feelings of mirth and joy.

Oh and unless you found something totally rad and meaningful, make your presents. You may end up feeling cheep (lacking cash), but you wont feel cheep (caving the the commercial pressures of Xmas).
